For the occasion of the Sommerhochschule's 75th Anniversary, the Association Friends of the Sommerhochschule published a newly updated edition of its successful Festschrift from 2019. New exclusive articles were contributed by Dr. Paul Frey and Mag. Daniel Uchtmann (Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien) reflecting on the long-standing cooperation between the KHM and the Sommerdiskurs, and by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Arnulf Grübler on the significant relationship between the Bürglgut and the Austrian painter John Quincy Adams. 

This article, written by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Arnulf Grübler and published as part of the 75 Years Sommerhochschule Anniversary Publication, deals with the involvement of the famous Austrian painter John Quincy Adams and the Sobotka family in Strobl and in particular the Bürglgut.

This online version includes an exclusive appendix of family portraits of the Sobotka family painted by John Quincy Adams.

The Festschrift (commemorative publication) was published on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Sommerhochschule of the University of Vienna. It reflects on 70 years of international exchange, success, and life-changing memories, brought to life by our alumni's contributions.
